Why independent testing
We follow the ANSI/IICRC S520 standard, and best practice is to keep testing separate from remediation. It keeps the results objective, accurate and transparent before any work is done.
How testing works
- Visual inspection. Moisture levels, visible signs and likely causes.
- Air and surface sampling. From affected areas and a clean control area.
- Laboratory analysis. Accredited labs identify mould species and spore counts.
- A detailed report. Findings, risks and tailored recommendations.
- Clearance testing. A retest after remediation to confirm it worked.

Questions people ask
Can you tell if it is toxic black mould by looking?
No. Only laboratory testing can confirm a species like Stachybotrys chartarum. Visual identification is not reliable.
Do I need testing before treatment?
Not always. For visible, contained mould we can often go straight to treatment. Testing is worth it for hidden mould, health concerns, or buying and selling.
