The dream
Living on the Sunshine Coast, in a rainforest property in the hinterland. High humidity, heavy rain and dense bush: the perfect conditions for mould, although we did not think about that then.
The storm
A severe storm caused serious water damage to our home, and toxic mould took hold fast. What we could not see at first soon became impossible to ignore.
The cost
Our partner, who is immunocompromised, became critically unwell from mould-related biotoxins. It led to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) and severe, life-threatening seizure episodes.
The purpose
We threw ourselves into understanding mould at every level. Not just how to remove it, but how to do it without putting more harsh chemicals into homes that were already making people sick.
